Irrational Week 1

New Hope Church began in 1999 when Pastor Chuck Farina felt called to start a new church in Abilene, Texas. The church initially met in homes before moving to various locations. After many challenges, Hobby Lobby purchased a building worth over two million dollars for the church in 2002, which they transformed into an 800-seat auditorium. They are a relatively young but diverse congregation, and they welcome everyone to come and experience God's miraculous power.

Irrational

God owns everything. We are merely managers of what He owns! Therefore, it is crucial that we learn how to properly manage what He's given us.

We sing songs like "I Surrender All" and "Take It All", but don't always mean the words we sing. God wants us to be in a place where we truly trust Him with everything we have, understanding that He's the true owner of it, and has the power to give us more or less.

We may be waiting to give until we have more, but Jesus makes it clear in Matthew 13:44 that if we will make Him our treasure, it is easy to give away the things that we have in order to follow Him.

As we learn to surrender, as we make Jesus our treasure, we will begin to live in a way that seems irrational to others, but in a way that God has called us to live from the very beginning.
